FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to medicine and relates to the diagnosis of a complicated course of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GRD), namely the formation of Barrett's esophagus (BE). In patients with GRD, a biopsy specimen from the altered mucosa of the distal esophagus is examined, determining proteins such as: statamine 1, thioredoxin, protein heat shock 60-kDa, elongation factor Tu, inorganic pyrophosphatase, and in the presence of a pattern consisting of all 5 detectable proteins, the patient is diagnosed with PB.
EFFECT: claimed method makes it possible to use the minimum volume of the investigated material (1 fragment of the biopsy from the zone of altered epithelium of the esophagus), to increase the accuracy of diagnosis of BE in patients with complicated GRD.
