SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of technological operations in textile production. Method comprises determining weaving anomalies in a machine for weaving or winding a fibre preform onto a mandrel. Mandrel has an axis of rotation. Axis of rotation is substantially horizontal. Machine comprises a plurality of cameras, an image analysis module and a control unit. Cameras point towards the underside of the fibre preform in order to scan the lower face of the fibre preform and acquire images of the lower face. Image analysis module processes the images of the lower face of the fibre preform, extracts weaving patterns therefrom and compares them with reference weaving patterns previously stored in the module. Motor drives the mandrel in rotation about its axis of rotation. Control unit stops rotation of the mandrel if the result of the comparison reveals a difference of appearance between the two weaving patterns.
EFFECT: enabling detection of anomalies on the hidden surface of preforms prior to winding.
