SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engines. Intake (20) for the supply of air to engine (16) of aircraft (10) comprises opening (12) for the intake of air, which opening points in the direction of motion of aircraft (10), and air duct (24) between said opening (12) and engine (16). Air duct (24) is curved such that impact region (42) in air duct (24) is arranged behind said opening (12) as viewed in the direction of motion of the aircraft, such that any object (30) that flies into opening (12) impacts against impact region (42). Impact region (42) has penetration region (44) located in part (40) of air intake (20) in the form of a shell. Said penetration region (44) protrudes from aircraft (10) and is configured to be detached from aircraft (10) upon impact of colliding object (30).
EFFECT: invention improves safety and simplifies maintenance of aircraft.
