FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: using for detect defects in insulation coating of process or main pipelines or other products located in hard-to-reach places. Summary of Invention is that equipment for monitoring protective insulation coating of technological or main pipelines comprises two ring-type transceiver-transmitting acoustic systems, located at basic distance from each other along controlled pipeline and made in form of antenna arrays of piezoelectric transducers with dry point contact, attached to open section of monitored pipeline by means of clamping devices, and software and hardware complex for signal switching and data interpretation, electrically connected to antenna arrays, at that apparatus further comprising positioning device made in form of two belts with grooves oriented along generatrix of conduit, wherein antenna arrays are made in form of removable modules of piezoelectric transducers mounted in grooves of each belt of positioning device, and clamping devices of each antenna array are made in form of magnetic circuits installed in removable modules of antenna arrays.

EFFECT: increase in dry point contact of piezoelectric transducers of transceiving acoustic systems and provision of possibility of positioning equipment along pipeline.
