FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: using for non-destructive testing of technical condition of pipelines in an acoustic manner. Summary of invention is that the apparatus for detecting pipeline defects contains annular transceiver-transmitting acoustic system, made in form of antenna arrays of piezoelectric transducers, attached to open section of pipeline with the help of clamping device, and software and hardware complex for switching and interpreting data, wherein apparatus further comprises positioning device made in form of belt with grooves directed along generatrix of pipeline, and antenna arrays are made in form of removable modules of piezoelectric transceiver transducers installed in slots of positioning device, clamping device being made in form of magnetic circuits installed in removable modules of antenna arrays.

EFFECT: ensuring possibility of obtaining high dry acoustic contact of piezoelectric acoustic transducers of antenna arrays with pipeline outer surface.
