FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for predicting mudflow hazard. Essence: evaluate the spectral composition and polarization characteristics of microseismic noise within the local area of the mudflow hazard zone. Approximate mudflow is predicted by increasing the fraction of the high-frequency component of the signal in the 20–50 Hz spectral window and changing the polarization of microseismic noise.
EFFECT: determination of the mudflow approach.
