FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an internal combustion engine having a variable compression ratio. Internal combustion engine has variable-compression-ratio mechanism (10) that changes the compression ratio of the engine in accordance with the rotational position of first control shaft (14). Lever (24) in coupling mechanism (20) couples first control shaft (14) and second control shaft to each other, said second control shaft being connected to a motor. First coupling pin (26) rotatably couples one end of lever (24) to first arm part (25) of first control shaft (14). In the orientation for at least one prescribed compression ratio, viewed along the axis of first coupling pin (26), said first coupling pin (26) is located outside a bearing cap (30) for rotatably supporting first control shaft (14).
EFFECT: technical result is improved processability of the assembly.
