FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an internal combustion engine including a variable compression ratio mechanism. Stopper (32) includes side wall (33) on one end side located opposite one end surface of pin of thrust on side of control shaft irrespective of control shaft rotation position; side wall (34) on the other end side located opposite the other end surface of the pin of the thrust on the side of the control shaft irrespective of the position of rotation of the control shaft; flange (36) on one end face fixed on upper oil pan (23); and flange (37) on other end side fixed on upper oil pan (23). As a result, thrust pin end surface on the side of control shaft partially overlaps with side wall (33) on one end side and side wall (34) on the other end side of stopper (32) when viewed in axial direction of pin of thrust on the side of control shaft, independently from control shaft rotation position. Accordingly, it is possible to reliably prevent loss of thrust pin on side of control shaft in axial direction of pin of rod on side of control shaft, regardless of position of rotation of control shaft.
EFFECT: internal combustion engine is proposed.
