FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electro-spark and gas-discharge flaw detection by detecting local defects and can be used to detect defects in dielectric coatings of parts of electrical and radio engineering equipment, as well as to control the tightness of dielectric coatings applied to the metal surface. Method for controlling the integrity of the dielectric coating of a metal substrate consists in the formation of an electric corona discharge in a sharp non-homogeneous field between the monitored item and the end of the metal electrode, moved over the dielectric coating at a distance of 6–9 mm from it, and the diameter of the metal electrode is less than 0.01 of this distance, and a controlled voltage of 4–6 kV is applied to the electrode. Location of the through hole is determined by the presence of an electric current in the circuit and the location of the metal electrode.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the possibility of control without degradation of the properties or destruction of the dielectric coating.
