FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for hot-dip coating a metal strip. Installation comprises means for moving the metal strip along a path, tank (3) for containing melt bath (4) and a wiping system comprising at least two nozzles placed on either side of the path downstream tank (3). Wiping system has compartment (16) with lower confinement part (18) confining an atmosphere around the metal strip upstream of said nozzles (7) and upper confinement part (30) confining the atmosphere around the metal strip downstream of the nozzles. Wiping system also has a first moving means for vertically moving lower confinement part (18) with respect to tank (3), and second moving means for vertically moving upper confinement part (30) with respect to both tank (3) and lower confinement part (18). Nozzles are vertically movable relative to tank (3).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to control the quality and thickness of the coating of the metal strip.
