FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of coating on continuously drawn metal strip by immersion. Plant contains bath (2) for metal melt coating, from which strip (1) comes out vertically, lower roller (4), straightening roller (5a) and, if necessary, stabilizing roller (5b) immersed in bath (2) with molten metal, drying knives (3) located at the outlet of bath (2) and releasing compressed gas to remove excess still hardened coating, creating drying wave (11) containing downward directed back flow (14) of liquid metal. Apparatus also comprises a device for dissipation and hydrodynamic stabilization, located between drying knives (3) and the last immersed roller (5a or 5b), comprising a plurality of hydrodynamic support plates (6) for applying force on at least one side of metal strip (1), installed with possibility of rotation on hinges (7) for self-alignment of said support plates located also in transverse direction along width of strip (1) so that in process of operation reverse flow (14) of metal melt of wave (11) of drying flows at least partially along back surface of support plates (6).

EFFECT: invention provides stabilization and/or damping of strip vibrations at the outlet of the bath with molten metal by means of hydrodynamic means, which dissipate energy of vibration generated in the strip by the plant, as well as straightening of the strip with provision of homogeneous thickness of the coating along the plane of the strip and elimination of spraying occurring at high speed drawing.
