SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Partially coincident large objects (LOBs) storage organization method, in which obtaining at least one large object to perform its modification or addition to the database on a storage device; searching for fragments of the received large object matching with the stored in the database fragments of large objects, wherein the large objects in the database are divided into fragments, where each fragment has a unique identifier; in the case of matching fragments finding, splitting the resulting large object into matching in the database fragments and into unique fragments in such a way, that unique fragment is considered to be the large object every continuous section that remains after the matching fragments finding; receiving the large objects matching fragments identifiers from the memory device; assigning the identifier to the received large object each unique fragment and storing it in the memory device; storing the large object in the database as the ordered sequence of fragments identifiers, from which it consists.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the database management system performance improvement.
