SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in bearing assemblies of pumps, turbines, and compressors. Plain thrust bearing of the pump rotor includes support cages installed in the housing on both sides of the bearing disk of the pump rotor, consisting of a base, a separator that restricts the movement of the segments in the tangential direction, installed in it segments having an axial stop, springs individually pressing each segment to the bearing disk by an individual spring through a movable spherical hinged connection with the possibility of force transfer to the center of pressure of the hydrodynamic wedge for any kind of rotation of the rotor bearing disk, including precession.
EFFECT: formation of a stable oil hydrodynamic wedge and the reduction of contact stresses in the "liner – spherical stop" pair due to the increased contact area and, consequently, an increase in bearing life.
