FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine control systems for vehicles, in particular to systems for automatic engine start-stop control. Result is achieved in that the vehicle system for automatic engine start-stop control has at least one sensor which is designed with possibility to output a range signal and a range-rate signal. Range signal represents a distance from a host vehicle to the front vehicle and the range-rate signal represents range-rate information of the front vehicle relative to the host vehicle. Processing device is configured to output a control signal based on the range signal and the range-rate signal. Control signal commands an engine of the host vehicle to start.
EFFECT: technical result is increased fuel economy and reduced engine emissions.
