SUBSTANCE: invention relates to auxiliary vehicle systems. Vehicle's cruise control system contains a computer in the vehicle. Computer contains a processor and a storage device and is configured to control the speed of the vehicle within the first threshold speed value in accordance with a predetermined value, entered into the cruise control system, to determine whether the current slope value is within the first threshold slope value, adjust the setpoint for controlling the vehicle speed within the second speed threshold value, beyond the first speed threshold, determine whether the current grade value is within the second threshold grade, and adjust the set value to return the vehicle speed to the first speed threshold.
EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
