SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heaters and can be used in the production of mineral additives in the form of expanded vermiculite in animal feed and poultry. Installation comprises, mounted above each other at an angle to the horizontal, a rotating upper drum of preliminary heat treatment of the raw material and a lower swelling drum with inlet and outlet nozzles, a burner and a flue. Outlet branch pipe of the upper drum by the overflow chamber is connected to the inlet branch pipe of the lower drum. It is equipped with distributive truncated cones installed in the inlet nozzles of the upper and lower drum for heating and uniform distribution throughout the volume of said drums of incoming raw materials, a cyclone with a fan configured to suck and release a light fraction of expanded vermiculite and circulating through a closed system of hot spent flue gas coming from said drums and located at the outlet branch pipe of the lower drum heat exchanger to collect separated from the ready expanded vermiculite gangue,the said drums being arranged at an angle of 5-7° to the horizontal, and on their inner lined surface along the entire length in staggered order along the radius are installed fireproof blades.

EFFECT: invention will improve the quality of the finished product, increase the efficiency and the possibility of using it in a continuous mode.
