Disclosed is an adapter apparatus for a respiratory therapy system having a pressure generating device and a heated tube assembly coupled to a patient interface device, the pressure generating device comprising an outlet pipe having a first housing with a first slot element configured to align with the protruding elements of the heated tube assembly, wherein the heated tube assembly is electrically connectable to the first housing. Adapter device includes a first end having a first nozzle element configured to communicate fluidly with the heated tube assembly; and a second end having a second nozzle element adapted to receive the flow of the respiratory gas generated by the pressure generating device, and is configured to supply the flow of respiratory gas to the heated tube assembly through the first nozzle element. Inline auxiliary device has a first end in fluid communication with the second nozzle element and a second end adapted to receive the flow of respiratory gas generated by the pressure generating device, wherein a set of wires extends along the length of the inline auxiliary device. Inline auxiliary device includes an oxygen enrichment adapter, a pressure valve or an antibacterial filter. Set of wires has a first electrical connector configured to be electrically connected to the heated tube assembly, and a second electrical connector configured to be electrically connected to the pressure generating device. Disclosed is a system of respiratory therapy, including an adapter device.
