SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to zeolite-containing catalysts and use thereof. Disclosed is a catalyst for hydroisomerisation of a hydrocarbon feedstock containing C5-C8 n-paraffins based on an aluminosilicate zeolite of an MFI or BEA structure with a SiO₂/Al₂O₃ molar ratio from 25 to 130, modified with Pt and/or Pd and one or more promoter metals selected from Zn, Cu, Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, La. Catalyst contains 20–50 % of aluminium oxide or silicon oxide as binder, the weight content of Pt and/or Pd is 0.2–1.0 %, residual sodium ions – less than 0.1 %. Metals are introduced into the zeolite in the form of cations by ion exchange and, after each metal injection operation, the resulting ion exchange form of the zeolite is treated with an aqueous reagent solution, which provides attachment of cations on the surface of the zeolite in the form of a water insoluble compound. Disclosed is a method for hydroisomerising a hydrocarbon feedstock using the disclosed catalyst.

EFFECT: implementation of the proposed group of inventions provides higher and highly selective conversion of normal hydrocarbons to isoparaffins.
