DEVICE FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL ACTIVATION OF WATER AND WATER SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C02F1/461

Abstract RU 2658028 C2

FIELD: chemistry; electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for the electrochemical activation of water and aqueous solutions. Device comprises a water supply system, power unit and a reactor with a dielectric housing in which dissimilar electrodes and ion-permeable diaphragm are arranged in the form of a bipolar ion-exchange membrane with a cation exchange side facing the cathode space, and the anion-exchange side to the anode space. Common housing is rectangular with an internal volume that is a cathode space containing a predetermined number of parallel connected electrode blocks each containing an electrode box made of a polymeric material with cutouts on opposite sides in which bipolar ion exchange membranes are sealed by means of fastening means, while the anode is located in the inner anode space of the electrode assembly so that both sides of the anode are working. Cathodes made in the form of plates are installed outside the electrode box according to the location of the bipolar ion-permeable membranes so that the distance between the cathode and the anode is determined by the thickness of the bipolar ion-exchange membrane with fastening means. Electrodes can be made with perforations, diameter of the perforations is preferably 5 mm, and the pitch of the holes is preferably 10 mm. Anodes can be made from a titanium sheet coated with ruthenium oxide on both sides. Means for securing the bipolar ion exchange membrane can be made in the form of clamping elements with compaction elements. Pressing member can be made in the form of a frame of a polymeric material, and the sealing elements are made of rubber.

EFFECT: reduction of power consumption per unit volume and increase in productivity by preventing mixing of catholyte and anolyte, increasing the speed of the activation process.
