FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology and can be used in manufacturing of sorbents, catalysts and carriers for catalysts, sensors, gas accumulators, structural, lining, optical materials and electrodes for high-capacity current sources and power converters. Zinc carboxylic acid salt or zinc or titanium alkoxide is heat treated in an inert atmosphere at 450–500 °C for 1.0–1.5 hours. Resulting product is treated with 10 % formic acid or a mixture of concentrated hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid at a temperature of 60–65 °C holding for 3–5 hours. Precipitate is separated by vacuum filtration, washed with distilled water and dried at a temperature of 100–110 °C for 1.0–1.5 h.

EFFECT: nanostructured carbon materials with a high specific surface are obtained in a simple and reliable manner.
