FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to observation of spacecraft (SC), for example, during SC inspections or when unauthorized removal to a disposal zone from low Earth orbits. Method comprises recording and storing the signals acting on the SC, measuring their level and processing. In this case, the signals are recorded in series at equal intervals, and the approximation of the active spacecraft is determined by the increase in the rate of change in the level of signals in consecutively recorded series.
EFFECT: reduction of the mass and overall characteristics of SC due to possibility of using simpler means to register the approximation of the active SC.
