SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a packer assembly for use in a subterranean well, to a method of constructing thereof and a well system comprising said assembly. Packer assembly comprises a seal element which swells in the well, reinforcement located in the seal element, and an extrusion barrier which displaces outward in response to swelling of an end portion of the seal element. Said reinforcement is longitudinally spaced apart from the end portion of the seal element. Extrusion barrier comprises a first plurality of circumferentially distributed petals secured to an end ring. Said end ring is configured to prevent longitudinal displacement of the seal element relative to a base pipe. Extrusion barrier also comprises a sleeve inserted in the first plurality of said petals. This sleeve includes a second plurality of circumferentially distributed petals disposed radially inward relative to the first plurality. Extrusion barrier is disposed around at least a portion of the seal element between said end portion of the seal element and the end of the reinforcement.

EFFECT: technical result is increased swellable packer efficiency.
