FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: wireless power transfer system includes power transmitter (101) configured to output power to power receiver (105) by a wireless inductive power transfer signal, where the power transmission signal is output in the power time interval of the repeating time frame of the power transmission signal. Time frame also contains a time interval of reduced power. Apparatus (typically power receiver (105) or power transmitter (101)) comprises short-range communication unit (305, 405) configured to exchange data messages with a second entity (which is an additional unit, id est, any power transmitter (101) or power receiver (105)) using short-range communication. Short-range communication has a range not exceeding 20 cm. Apparatus further comprises synchronization unit (309, 409) configured to synchronize the short-range communication with the time frame of the power transmission signal such that the short-range communication is limited to time slots of reduced power. Communication can, in particular, be NFC connection.

EFFECT: technical result is providing reliable communication support, decreasing sensitivity to load changes and increasing the level of safety.
