SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and more particularly to a multi-user system with a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs. Wireless communication system includes a base station capable of communicating with a plurality of subscriber stations. Base station can transmit control information and data to subscriber stations, can also identify a set of RS patterns that are to be used to communicate with the subscriber station, assign a subset of antenna port numbers within a set of RS patterns to subscriber stations, may indicate assigned states in the format of the Downlink Control Information (DCI) transmitted through the Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH). Base station transmits the data using a subset of the antenna ports corresponding to a subset of the antenna port numbers, and can also convert the reference signals corresponding to a subset of the antenna ports in accordance with at least one RS pattern within a set of RS patterns.

EFFECT: methods and device for multi-user MIMO transmissions in wireless communication systems are proposed.
