FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of process control and relates to a diagnostic device for detecting the condition of a process pipeline. Device includes an infrared detector, a memory, a microprocessor and an output circuit. Infrared detector comprises a plurality of pixels that receive radiation from the pipeline and provide a plurality of output signals. Here, the first pixel of the plurality of pixels receives the radiation from the first location on the pipeline, Second pixel receives infrared radiation from the second location, and the third pixel receives radiation from the third location on the pipeline. Memory contains thermal profile information relating to the output signals from the first, second and third pixels during the normal course of the production process. Microprocessor is configured to detect a process anomaly related to the pipeline condition, based on the output signals from the first, second and third pixels and the thermal profile information. Output circuit provides diagnostic output information indicating the detected anomaly of the process.

EFFECT: technical result is to simplify the measurements and provide continuous monitoring at critical points.
