FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical production, namely to horizontal injection molding machines. Molding chamber of the injection molding machine comprises a cylinder interconnected with a pouring window separated from the rear end by a web, and a casing with a longitudinal through groove and an annular stop located behind the front end of the cylinder, the casing being shortened from the rear end by at least the sum of the length of its filling port and the lintel. Chamber is provided with a device for cooling the lower part of the cylinder in the area of the filling port, which is provided with a path for supplying refrigerant to the cylinder and transverse windows for supplying the coolant to the cooling and refrigerant removal path from it.
EFFECT: length of the casing and the weight of its initial billet is reduced, while the durability is increased in the area of the pouring window due to the external cooling of the lower part of the cylinder.
