SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy. Piston assembly of injection moulding machine comprises connected to each other hollow piston and rod with longitudinal channel, disc 6 arranged without gaps between ends of piston and rod and with side clearance in piston cavity, shank end of disc 6, arranged in longitudinal channel of rod and connected to rod by means of thread and pin, tube installed in longitudinal channel of stock with clearance and connected by front end to shroud of disc 6. Longitudinal grooves are made on rod thread, which are opened by ends in side gap and into cavity formed by surfaces of piston and rod, which is connected with longitudinal channel of rod by transverse windows. Shank cavity is connected by crosswise openings with lateral clearance between disc 6 and piston. On the front end of the piston, which is connected by thread to the front part of the rod, there is a socket, the diameter of which is larger than the diameter of the piston cavity and less than its outer diameter, and the depth is less than half the thickness of the wall of the front face of the piston, in which the heat-insulating material is located and disc 15 resting against it by the rear end face, which is permanently connected by its side surface to the side surface of this socket.

EFFECT: invention provides effective heat insulation of the piston front end face.
