SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used for marine seismic survey. According to the claimed solution, marine seismic vibrators are activated, forming a wavefield gradient source for studying the target structure. Next, two or more seismic vibrators from an array of seismic vibrators are activated to form a monopolar source of the wave field to study the target structure. And when towing one or more seismic vibrators, successive pulses alternate with the activation of a monopolar source, which forms a monopolar wave source, and the activation of the gradient source, which forms the source of the wavefield gradient.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy and informativeness of the data obtained.
