FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry, namely to the cochleate for the delivery of a biologically active agent. Cochleate for the delivery of a biologically active agent comprising a soy-based phospholipid which contains 45% to 55% by weight of soybean phosphatidylserine, a multivalent cation and a biologically active agent. Also suggested the method for preparation cochleates from phosphatidylserine soy/biologically active agent. Method of treating a patient with a bacterial infection, according to the invention comprises administering to the patient an effective amount of cochleate that contains (i) soybean-based phospholipid comprising 45% to 55% by weight of soybean phosphatidylserine, (ii) a multivalent cation and (iii) an antibiotic agent.
EFFECT: above-described cochleate is effective for delivering a biologically active agent to the patient's body, providing a high efficiency of loading into the cochlea.
