SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used in the chemical industry and relates to a method for purifying a crude PNPNH compound. Proposed method for purifying a crude PNPNH compound of general structure R1R2P-N(R3)-P(R4)-N(R5)-H, where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are independently trimethylsilyl, C1-C10-alkyl, C6-C20-aryl or cyclic derivative of a PNPNH compound in which at least one of the P or N atoms of the PNPN-H structure is a member of the ring system, wherein the ring system is formed by substitution from one or more of the component compounds of the PNPNH structure, where substitution is a formal cleavage on each compound-compound or two whole groups R1-R5 or H, one atom from each of the two groups R1-R5, or the whole group R1-R5, or H and an atom from another group R1-R5 and the bonding of thus formally created unsaturated sites of valency by means of a single covalent bond in each component compound to provide the same valence as originally present at a predetermined site, includes: (a) dissolving the PNPNH compound in a first solvent; (b) metalating the PNPNH compound; (c) isolating the metalated compound obtained at step b); and (d) re-protonating the metalated compound in a second solvent.
EFFECT: disclosed is a novel efficient method of purifying valuable compounds useful in the process of oligomerisation of ethylene.
