SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process useful in the chemical industry for purifying a crude PNPNH compound of general structure R1R2P-N(R3)-P(R4)-N(R5)-H, where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 independently are halogen, amino, trimethylsilyl, C1-C10-alkyl, C6-C20-aryl or a cyclic derivative thereof, in which at least one of the P or N atoms of the PNPN-H structure is a member of the ring system, wherein the ring system is formed by substitution from one or more of the component compounds of PNPNH structure, which comprises steps of: (i) suspension purging of a suspension containing a crude PNPNH compound and an alcohol at a temperature of 0-25°C; (ii) stirring the suspension by means of a stirrer or mixer; (iii) separating the PNPNH compound, wherein the alcohol is removed by drying at 10-50°C under a vacuum of 5.0 to 500 millibars, wherein the alcohol/ligand weight ratio is 5.0-0.1.
EFFECT: novel efficient method for purifying a PNPNH compound is proposed.
