FIELD: soil science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to soil science. Method of identifying and charting the structure of the soil profile by the method of shooting in the infrared spectral range consists in surveying the soil profile with a radiometer in the infrared range. Boundaries of the soil horizons are determined from the difference in the radio brightness temperature values in the zones of the boundary transitions, which makes it possible to obtain automated quantitative estimates of soil morphostructures and exclude subjective visual analysis. Survey is carried out in the range from 7.5 to 13 mcm, with radiometric resolution not worse than 0.1 °C, spatial resolution not lower than 1×1 cm. Survey is carried out perpendicular to the wall of the cut from a distance of 50–200 cm. For subsequent scaling of the image, the depth marks are set every 10 cm when surveying the profile. After the survey, a two-dimensional array of values of radio brightness temperatures with a measurement step corresponding to resolution of the imaging device is formed. Stage of analysis and construction of the profile scheme is carried out by processing two-dimensional data sets with software products.

EFFECT: obtained quantitative characteristics that allow to identify and fix the structure of the soil profile in the format of a digital image and diagram.
