FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method for inducing an immune response in an individual to a foreign protein antigen is provided. Proposed method includes the steps of producing an attenuated recombinant rabies virus encoding the foreign protein antigen, operably linked to control sequences, infection of a recipient cell with said rabies virus under conditions that allow the expression of the foreign protein antigen by the recipient cell, and enhancing the immune response to said foreign protein antigen by administering said foreign protein antigen contained in an enhancing composition that does not contain an adjuvant. In this case, the foreign protein antigen is located between the two genes G in the genome of said attenuated recombinant rabies virus and is not expressed in the structure of the recombinant virus.
EFFECT: proposed method provides an individual with a powerful immune response to foreign protein antigens without the use of adjuvants and can be used in medicine.
