FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing 1,3-dimethyl-7-(piperidin-1-ylmethyl)-6,7-dihydrothiazolo[3,2-ƒ]purin-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, which can be used to normalize the detoxification function of the liver in chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of drug and alcoholic genesis. Method is carried out by reacting 8-chloro-1,3-dimethylxanthine with 1-(thiiran-2-ylmethyl)piperidine in the presence of potassium hydroxide in dimethylformamide at the boiling point of the reaction mixture for 1 hour. Molar ratio of the reagents water : potassium hydroxide : 8-chloro-1,3-dimethylxanthine : DMF : 1-(thiiran-2-ylmethyl)piperidine is 6.05:0.3:0.3:14:0.3.

EFFECT: increased yield of the desired product, use of water as a co-solvent and reduced volume of the organic solvent.
