FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to method and search device using magnetic and electric fields, which are varied by an object, by means of induction coils. Method for diagnosing a railway embankment, its base, includes the steps in which a magnetic field is created by a multi-polar pulse current of rectangular shape with a pause with a continuous movement of the source of the magnetic field, at the inclusion moment of the positive and negative current pulses of a rectangular shape with a pause, a vertical component measurement of the vector time derivative of magnetic induction is conducted, the results of measurements in the accumulation unit of the signals taken are registered, the specific electrical resistance of the soil of the railway embankment and its base are calculated, their engineering geological section is built.
EFFECT: increasing in depth, increasing the performance of sub-ballast layer inspection, increasing the efficiency of hidden objects detection and the accuracy of measurements.
