FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to destructive methods of reconstructing a profile of residual stresses along the thickness of a plate, based on layer-by-layer removal of material from the surface of a strip cut from it and measurement of its deflection. Said plate is an elastic plate with symmetric distribution of residual stresses in thickness induced by double-sided surface treatment. Method includes gradual removal of material from one of strip planes using installation, in which the Davydenkov–Birger method is implemented with concomitant measurement of its deflection and determination of profiles of proper deformations and residual stresses from these data.
EFFECT: reconstruction of symmetric profile of residual stresses in plate using data of strip deflection at one-sided release of material without its longitudinal cutting.
