FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. In order to ensure the same mechanical properties and grain size in the belt of variable thickness along its length, the method comprises the following sequentially conducted steps: preparing the original belt of the same thickness, cold uniform rolling of the original belt along its length to produce an intermediate belt of equal thickness in the rolling direction, cold flexible rolling of the intermediate belt along its length to produce a belt of variable thickness, containing along its length the first sections of the first thickness (e+s) and second portions of the second thickness (e) that is smaller than the first thickness (e+s), annealing the belt while it is being drawn.
EFFECT: degree of plastic deformation after the optional recrystallization annealing achieved in the stages of cold uniform rolling and cold flexible rolling in the first sections is more or equal to 30 %.
