FIELD: metallurgy; measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for estimating the energy intensity of titanium alloys by their mechanical properties and the determination, based on the obtained values, of the suitability of these alloys for the production of elastic elements. Perform the definition of parameters σ0.2/σB, and as the optimum ratio of the values for estimating the energy intensity of the alloy, the following values of the ratios of the indicated parameters are chosen: τ32/G is more than 17; τ32/ρG is more than 3.7; σ0.2/σB in the range of 0.89–0.96; σB not less than 1,500 MPa; τ3 not less than 900 MPa, where σ0.2 – yield strength, MPa; σB – ultimate tensile strength, MPa; τ3 – maximum shear stress, MPa; G – modulus of shear, MPa; ρ – density, g/cm3.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplifying the evaluation of the elastic properties of titanium alloys and in increasing the reliability of the estimation of the energy intensity of titanium alloys that have undergone technological deformation and heat treatment regimes.
