FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: ambient air temperature measurement method relates to methods for measuring the ambient air temperature and display its current value on the computer screen. Proposed method for measuring the ambient air temperature comprises continuous measuring the ambient air temperature by a digital thermometer, simultaneous converting the obtained temperature values into a digital signal of a 1-Wire single-wire interface, transformation of the signal with the data on the ambient air temperature into the signal of the digital interface of the computer, processing of the received data by the computer and outputting temperature values to the monitor. Moreover, after converting the obtained temperature values into a digital signal of the 1-Wire single-wire interface, it is converted into a UART serial interface signal followed by its galvanic isolation. Then, the galvanically isolated UART interface signal is converted to a USB interface signal, the received signal is transmitted to the USB port of the computer. Processing of the obtained data by the computer and the output of the temperature value to the monitor is carried out by successively alternating the values of the current ambient air temperature and current time. Hourly temperature values are being saved in the files of the computer archive, temperature reports in the form of graphs are being, daily or monthly, output on the monitor or printer. Minimum, average and maximum temperatures for any past day or month are being output on a monitor or printer.

EFFECT: increased noise immunity and increased stability of a transmitted signal due to galvanic isolation of the digital thermometer signal from the computer interface signal, method provides a length of the connecting cable more than 10 meters.
