SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for shaving and trimming hair. Hair trimmer includes a cutting head and an optical module for projecting an elongate optical image onto the skin of a user. Optical element comprises a reflective surface. Said surface is configured to reflect a beam of light emitted by a light source. Beam of light converges in a first plane and diverges in a second plane. First plane is at right angles to the second plane. Invention also includes a method of trimming hair.
EFFECT: technical result improved quality of shaving and trimming hair.
