SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a handbrake system used on a non-balanced pumping jack, includes a drive mechanism mounted at the bottom of the pumping jack, and an actuation mechanism mounted on the side of the main driving sprocket of the pumping jack. Drive mechanism and the actuator are connected by a wire rope. Drive mechanism and the actuator of the brake system are located separately, which ensures rapid braking and eliminates possible danger of a worker falling from a height. Braking mode of the brake system of the pumping jack is to implement a braking function by locking the rotating shaft from the outside. Braking force during braking is relatively small and the braking reliability is relatively low. Braking is performed by inserting a driving spindle between the two teeth of the main drive sprocket.
EFFECT: reliability of braking is considerably increased in comparison with the available prior art.
