COMPOSITION FOR CEMENTING LIQUID RADIOACTIVE WASTE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G21F9/16 B82Y40/00

Abstract RU 2661905 C1

FIELD: nuclear physics and engineering; processing and recycling of wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to localization of liquid radioactive waste and can be used in nuclear power engineering and in radiochemical industries for curing radioactive solutions and pulps by cementing. Composition for cementing LRW consists of an astringent Portland cement, superplasticizer C-3, which additionally contains multilayer carbon nanotubes as a reinforcement additive, with the following component ratio, by weight: Portland cement – 97.9–98.9; superplasticizer C-3 – 0.6; multilayered carbon nanotubes (MCNTs) – 0.5–1.5; Portland cement is mechanically pre-activated in a planetary ball mill in order to increase the content of the total fraction of cement particles up to 20 mcm in size, since this particular fraction of cement is distinguished by a large content of hexagonal and prismatic crystals of tricalcium silicate 3CaO⋅2SiO2, which determines the high strength of Portland cement.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase the degree of filling of the cement compound with LRW elements while maintaining the strength characteristics of the compounds.
