FIELD: measurement technology; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining the battery state of charge, including a battery with a cathode based on lithium-iron-phosphate in charging, charge maintaining and storage modes. Charge profile of the reference battery by is preliminarily measured by charging with a stabilized DC current of magnitude I0 until a voltage level U0 corresponding to the transition to a charging mode by a stabilized voltage is reached thereon. Profile is further charged with a stabilized voltage U0 with a decrease in the magnitude of charging current I and the correspondence between the magnitude of received charging current I and its charging rate is further determined for the reference battery. Then, the charging rate of the battery to be measured is determined, including applying a voltage U0 thereto. And if its charging rate is higher than the charging rate at which a stable voltage changes to a charging mode with a stabilized voltage, according to the magnitude of received charging current, the battery charging rate is determined. Voltage level U0 is selected in such a way that the transition to a charging mode with a stabilized voltage occurs at a charging rate of 20 % or higher. Battery to be measured is charged for at least 10 minutes.
