FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to veterinary medicine and can be used to treat or prevent mastitis. Method of the invention comprises a step for intramammary administration of a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a polyether ionophore selected from narasin, salinomycin, lasalocid, monensin, semduramicin, maduramycin and laidlomycin. Use of the invention relates to the manufacture of a composition intended for intramammary administration.
EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to effectively treat mastitis at a high concentration and reduce the toxicity of the polyester ionophore due to intramammary administration.
