SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns an oral care composition and methods of using it. Proposed oral care composition comprises a phosphate-acrylate copolymer, a bleaching agent and an orally acceptable carrier, wherein the phosphate-acrylate copolymer is a copolymerization product of a mixture of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and a mixture of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate phosphates of Formula 1:

where n is 0, 1 or 2. Method for the treatment and/or retardation of chemical dyeing, plaque formation, acid erosion and/or formation of a stone on the tooth surface, or slowing the formation of biofilms on the tooth surface, as well as a method for treating and/or slowing gum disease or halitosis including using the above composition are provided.

EFFECT: use of the aforementioned phosphate-acrylate copolymer in combination with a whitening agent in the composition provides the stability of the whitening agent (hydrogen peroxide) in the composition and is highly effective in removing and/or preventing chemical dyeing of the tooth surface when applied in the oral cavity.
