FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology. Mediastinal pleura is widely incised with subsequent extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy. Four-channel silicone catheter with a cross section diameter of 10 according to the Charriere scale is further placed in the mediastinal septum. Wherein the working part of the catheter is located paratracheally from the bifurcation to the upper thoracic part of the trachea and limited by ligatures. Incised mediastinal pleura is sutured with a continuous, sealed suture. Distal part of the catheter is further withdrawn in the fifth intercostal space along the parasternal line to the anterior thoracic wall and is fixed to the skin. Mediastinal lymph is collected starting from the first day after the surgery with a vacuum aspirator with exhausting in the system of 1.0–1.5 kPa.
EFFECT: method allows maintaining the integrity of the thoracic duct, reducing traumatism and preventing complications.
