SUBSTANCE: application scope: non-destructive testing of slab condition. Method comprises acoustic emission signals measuring from internal and surface slab defects. Diagnosing the defects origination and development in the slab entire volume by the received signals digital processing. Performing the slab condition comparison with the reference slab and classifying slabs into “good” and “bad”. At that, the defects origination and development diagnosis in the entire slab volume is carried out by the slab surface oscillations amplitude-frequency characteristics successive determining by means of the laser vibrometer, located above the heated to the “Curie temperature” slab upper surface.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in the control accuracy.
