FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the formation, on copper electrical contacts, of coatings based on cadmium oxide and silver, that can be used in electrical engineering. Method includes an electric explosion of the composite electrically exploding conductor, which consists of the two-layer flat silver shell with the weight of 60–360 mg and a core in the form of a cadmium oxide powder with a mass equal to 0.5–2.0 of the shell mass, the formation of a multiphase plasma jet from the explosion products, fusion of the surface of a copper electrical contact with an absorbed power density of 4.5–6.5 GW/m2, the deposition on the surface of the products of the explosion with the formation on it of a composite coating of the CdO-Ag system and the subsequent pulse-periodic electron-beam treatment of the coating surface at an absorbed energy density of 40–60 J/cm2, the pulse duration is 150–200 microseconds and the number of pulses is 10–30.
EFFECT: invention is directed to the production of electroerosion-resistant coatings with high electrical conductivity, electroerosion resistance and adhesion to the substrate at the level of cohesion.
