FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of applying an electroerosion-resistant coating of the Cd-Ag-N system on the surface of a copper electrical contact and can be used in electrical engineering. Electric explosion of two-layer composite electrically explosive conductor is carried out, one of layers of which consists of silver foil with mass of 60–360 mg, and the second layer — of cadmium foil with mass equal to 0.5–2.0 mass of the first layer. Pulsed multiphase plasma jet is formed from explosion products. Surface of copper electric contact is fused with it at absorbed power density of 4.5–6.5 GW/m2. Explosion products are deposited on the surface of the copper electrical contact and a Cd-Ag system coating is formed on it. Nitriding is carried out for 3–5 hours at temperature of 500–600 °C and subsequent pulse-periodic electron-beam treatment of the surface of the obtained coating at absorbed energy with density of 40–60 J/cm2, pulse duration of 150–200 mcs and number of pulses of 10–30.
EFFECT: electroerosion-resistant coating with high electroconductivity, electroerosion resistance and adhesion to the substrate at the cohesion level is provided.
