FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coating copper electric contacts. Method includes electric explosion of composite electrically exploding conductor consisting of two-layer flat silver shell with weight of 60–360 mg and core in form of copper oxide powder with mass equal to 0.5–2.0 of shell weight, formation from explosion products of a pulsed multiphase plasma jet, its melting surface of copper electric contact at absorbed power density of 4.5–6.5 GW/m2, deposition on surface of explosion products and formation on it of composite coating of CuO-Ag system and subsequent pulse-periodic electron-beam treatment of coating surface at absorbed energy density of 40–60 J/cm2, pulse duration 150–200 mcs and pulse number 10–30.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at formation on copper electric contacts coatings based on copper oxide and silver, having high electrical conductivity, erosion resistance and adhesion with substrate at the level of cohesion.
